About the Role:

The Board Operator/Promotions Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth technical operation and promotional success of our media broadcasts. This part-time position involves managing live broadcast equipment, coordinating with on-air talent, and assisting with the execution of promotional campaigns to enhance audience engagement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining broadcast quality, troubleshooting technical issues in real-time, and supporting the marketing team in organizing events and promotions. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining clear communication with various departments. Ultimately, the Board Operator/Promotions Assistant contributes to delivering a seamless listening experience and increasing the station’s visibility and listener base through strategic promotional efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of audio equipment and broadcast operations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in radio broadcasting or media production.
  • Familiarity with digital audio workstations and broadcast automation software.
  • Previous experience in marketing, promotions, or event coordination.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor broadcast equipment during live and recorded shows to ensure high-quality audio transmission.
  • Cue and play audio clips, commercials, and music according to the program schedule.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize broadcast interruptions.
  • Assist the promotions team in planning, coordinating, and executing marketing campaigns and events.
  • Maintain accurate logs of broadcast content and promotional activities.
  • Collaborate with on-air personalities, producers, and marketing staff to support show and promotional needs.
  • Manage inventory of promotional materials and assist with distribution.
  • Support social media and digital marketing efforts as needed to enhance audience engagement.
