With names like Cazzu, Khea, Nicki Nicole, Duki or Tiago PZK, the South Americans are making themselves present in trap, reggaeton and hip hop, with firm footing. One of the artists from that region, who has not yet become very international (but is on the way), is this 26-year-old from Mar del Plata, whose real name is Joaquinha Lerena.

(“SBS”) (OTC: SBSAA) junto a su cadena televisiva, MegaTV, presenta la mega producción “Tiempo de Amar” telenovela que estremece la pantalla con una trama desafiante, controvertida y polémica de época. Un reto abierto a soñar, luchar y vivir por un reencuentro, que los seducirá desde el primer capítulo de estreno emitido a las 6:00 p.m. (hora del este) y a las 3:00 p.m. (pacífico). En la Isla del Encanto estrena este lunes 23 de agosto a las 10:00 p.m. (hora del este) solo por MegaTV en Estados Unidos y Puerto Rico.

La telenovela, “Tiempo de Amar” es un drama de época, en sintonía con las tendencias de la sociedad actual, así lo apuntaron sus creadores. Es dirigida por Jayme Monjardim, director conocido por éxitos como “El Clon” y “La Vida Sigue”. Es una historia de Alcides Nogueira y se basa en un argumento original de Rubem Fonseca, uno de los más importantes escritores brasileños.

La historia de los protagonistas de “Tiempo de Amar” se inspira en la aventura real de la abuela del escritor, que salió de Portugal dejando a una hija pequeña- madre de Rubem- con sus padres para encontrar a su gran amor. Una telenovela clásica, con una historia de amor con muchos altibajos. La trama cuenta con un protagonismo principal sobre la fuerza de amar. Esta telenovela producida por Rede Globo Internacional se emitió en Brasil, pero desde entonces ha saltado a otros mercados.

Un romance lleno de desencuentros es la trama central de “Tiempo de amar”. La novela se desarrolla a finales de la década de 1920 en la ciudad de Río de Janeiro. El escenario en el que desembarca la portuguesa Maria Vitória (Vitória Strada) en busca de su amor Inácio (Bruno Cabrerizo), tras huir del convento de Portugal al que fue llevada por su padre, José Augusto (Tony Ramos), al descubrir que estaba embarazada. El destino -con un pequeño empujón de algunos personajes- acaba obstaculizando este amor tan soñado por ambos.

“Tiempo de Amar es el tipo de telenovelas que va con la misión de MegaTV de ofrecer al público latino de los Estados Unidos programación de alta calidad, historias innovadoras y temas relevantes a sus vidas cotidiana”, explicó José R. Maria Vitoria (Vitória Strada)
Joven alegre, valiente y decidida. Tiene una gran relación con su padre, José Augusto (Tony Ramos), que tiene en cuenta sus deseos. A pesar del interés de su amigo de la infancia Fernão (Jayme Matarazzo), se enamora de Inácio (Bruno Cabrerizo), por quien luchará a lo largo de la trama.

Inácio (Bruno Cabrerizo)
Es un joven sencillo, honesto y trabajador que está muy agradecido a su tía Henriqueta (Nívea María), con quien vive. Se enamora perdidamente de Maria Vitória (Vitória Strada), su gran amor durante toda la trama. Se va a trabajar a Brasil, al emporio de Geraldo (Jackson Antunes). Cuando le roban y le hieren gravemente, se salva y es atendido por Lucinda (Andreia Horta).

Tereza (Olivia Torres)
Hija de Delfina (Letícia Sabatella) y José Augusto (Tony Ramos). Una chica dulce e ingenua que hace todo lo que su madre le dice. No conoce la identidad de su padre.

Angélica (Livian Aragão)
Sobrina de Henriqueta (Nívea Maria) y prima de Inácio (Bruno Cabrerizo). Una joven hermosa, alegre, práctica e inteligente.

Fernão (Jayme Matarazzo)
Un recién graduado en medicina. Amigo de Maria Vitória (Vitória Strada) desde la infancia, está enamorado y cree que se casará con la joven y se hará cargo de la Quinta da Carrasqueira. No puede aceptar que lo dejen pasar por un campesino.

Helena (Jessika Alves)
Se hace amiga de Maria Vitória (Vitória Strada) en el barco de camino a Brasil. Durante el viaje, en el que está con sus dos hermanas menores, empieza a salir con el italiano Giuseppe (Guilherme Prates). Conocida como Lena.

Natalia (Giulia Gayoso)
Hermana de Lena (Jessika Alves) y Felícia (Amanda de Godoi). Sale con Tomaso (Ricardo Vianna), a quien conoce en el barco. Trabajará en la Maison Dorée cuando llegue a Río con sus hermanas.

Tomaso (Ricardo Vianna)
El italiano también está en el barco que se dirige a Brasil. Se enamora de Natalia (Giulia Gayoso).

Eunice (Lucy Alves)
Es criada y amiga de Celeste Herminia (Marisa Orth). Se enamorará del médico Reinaldo (Cassio Gabus Mendes).

Celina (Barbara França)
Hija de Bernardo (Nelson Freitas) y Alzira (Deborah Evelyn). Chica inmadura enamorada de Vicente (Bruno Ferrari). Ahijada de Celeste Herminia (Marisa Orth).

Vicente (Bruno Ferrari)
Es un idealista y se encargará de crear el Grêmio Cultural Brazileiro.

Edgar (Marcello Melo Jr)
Es de padre alemán y madre afrodescendiente. Se enamorará de Olimpia (Sabrina Petraglia) y se enfrentará a muchos prejuicios para sacar adelante la relación.

Artur (Guilherme Leicam)
Estudiante de derecho y amigo de Vicente (Bruno Ferrari). Tímido, se enamora de Celina (Barbara França), pero le cuesta declararse.

Carolina de Sobral (Mayana Moura)
Una joven que Vicente (Bruno Ferrari) conoce en casa de Celeste Herminia (Marisa Orth) y de la que se enamora.

Teodoro (Henri Castelli)
Diputado de una familia rica. Es arrogante, lascivo y corrupto.

Otávio (Marcel Octávio)
Amigo de Artur (Guilherme Leicam), Vicente (Bruno Ferrari) y Tomaso (Ricardo Vianna). Sus ideas políticas se radicalizan y se convierte en un republicano radical.

Molina was named to Radio + Television Business Report, “Top 15 Broadcast’s Best Finance Leaders” list. This award marks the second time Jose I. Molina has been honored by the publication in this category. This year’s crop of honorees are single out for their leadership accomplishments by RBR+TVBR readers, with reader nominations- people who know the radio and television business from the inside-along with research and editorial evaluation determining the final list.

The industry’s top radio and television finance executives according to RBR+TVBR have demonstrated leadership prowess, fiscal skills, and the acknowledged respect of their peers.

Mr. Molina has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance leadership and public accounting roles including broad experience in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and corporate restructuring.

From 2001 – 2015, Mr. Molina was the Senior Vice President of Finance at SBS and served as a member of the senior management team, advisor to the C-suite and liaison with the investment community.

Mr. Molina has been a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Florida since 1997. He holds a Master of Professional Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with Honors from the Fischer School of Accounting at the University of Florida.

Muchos fanáticos han disfrutado de las divertidas y entretenidas personificaciones que Julio Sabala ha realizado en los eventos del “Carnaval Miami”. Su historia con “Carnaval Miami” se extiende por décadas y tuvo su origen en el histórico pero desaparecido estadio del Orange Bowl.

“Noche De Carnaval” apoya la misión de la Fundación Kiwanis de la Pequeña Habana de permitir la accesibilidad de la educación para todos los niños. Una parte de las ganancias del evento financiará el Proyecto anual de suministros para el regreso a clases. Desde 1991, este proyecto anual ha proporcionado a miles de estudiantes de comunidades de bajos ingresos del sur de la Florida los útiles escolares que tanto necesitan. Los Angeles- January 12, 2018 — Spanish Broadcasting System (“SBS”) (OTCXQ: SBSAA) today announced that it had reached an agreement with Grupo Radio Centro (“Grupo”) to settle the parties’ long-standing lawsuit. SBS filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit in February of 2016 immediately after Grupo hired an on-air radio personality from SBS’s KLAX-FM in Los Angeles, alleging tortious interference and unfair competition.

The settlement, the terms of which cannot be disclosed as they are protected by a confidentiality provision, was reached in advance of the upcoming trial. The settlement resolves all pending legal proceedings between the parties.

“We are extremely pleased to have amicably resolved the matter,” stated SBS General Counsel Richard Lara. “As has always been its practice, SBS will not hesitate to take legal action when necessary to defend its contractual rights and business interests,” he added.

SBS owns and operates Hispanic-formatted KLAX-FM and KXOL-FM in the Los Angeles market, two of the highest-rated radio stations in Southern California.

La Vicepresidente de Recursos Humanos de SBS, Maggie Necega informó hoy que el período de maternidad del talento Angelique “La Burbu” Burgos comenzó el 1ro de septiembre y se extendió hasta el 27 de octubre, 2017 donde se cumplieron las ocho semanas estipuladas por ley. El tiempo adicional lo tomó Burgos sin haberlo solicitado y mucho menos aprobado o autorizado por la empresa.

“Con estos datos pretendemos llevar la información correcta relacionada a la salida de la Sra. (“SBS”/ (OTCQX: SBSAA) today announced that Donny Hudson has been named General Manager and Vice President of SBS Miami supervising all operations at WXDJ-FM (EL NUEVO ZOL 106.7FM), WRMA-FM (RITMO 95.7FM), WCMQ-FM (ZETA 92.3FM), and the LaMusica app. The appointment is effective immediately.

Mr. Hudson has been with SBS for eighteen years and previously held various managerial positions including SVP of Sales, Local Sales Manager, and Director of Local Sales.

Prior to joining Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS), Hudson served as EVP of Sales for America CV Network/ America TeVe. He also worked in sales at HBC for WRTO-98.3FM, WAMR-107.5FM and WQBA-1140AM, WAQI-710AM and then as General Sales Manager of WRTO-98.3FM. He started his radio career at WSUA-Radio Suave after graduating from the University of Miami in 1989 with a Degree in Broadcasting. He is a proud Miami native.

Albert Rodriguez is COO of Spanish Broadcasting System, a job he had held since 2012. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company and oversees the revenue and profit performance of the company’s consolidated operations, including radio, television, interactive and entertainment divisions. Previously, Rodriguez was the chief revenue officer of SBS’s television segment and GM of the Miami television market from October 12, 2010 to January 6, 2011, GM of the Miami television market from January 21, 2010 through October 11, 2010, and GSM for the Miami radio market from November 1999 through January 2010. Before joining the company’s television segment, Rodriguez was the GSM of SBS’s radio properties in Miami.

Norberto Sanchez is chairman and CEO of the Norsan Group, which runs Norsan Multimedia, a Spanish-language communications company that includes 12 radio stations in the Southeast, four of them covering the Charlotte market; the company also owns Spanish-language newspapers. Sanchez started his company in Atlanta and has gradually been moving more and more operations to Charlotte. Apart from the communications industry, the Norsan Group has a large role in the food industry, including a restaurant and catering division and Prime Meats, a USDA meat-processing facility serving the hospitality industry.

Ismar Santa Cruz is vice president/managing director of radio strategy for Univision Communications, overseeing content strategy, music genre curation, and continual success for Univision’s radio portfolio and leading programming initiatives for its 64 owned-and-operated stations in 15 top U.S. Hispanic markets and Puerto Rico. He also plays an integral role in Univision Music’s multi-platform strategy. Santa Cruz joined UCI to co-found the internal strategic consulting and consumer research division of Univision Radio. Santa Cruz has been instrumental in achieving double-digit audience growth year-over-year on broadcast and digital platforms, developing Univision’s Sonic Logo across all brands, and identifying Univision’s 2014 FIFA World Cup anthem, “Adrenalina.”

Enrique Santos is chairman and chief creative officer of iHeartLatino, heading iHeartMedia’s Latin direction and strategy. His daily morning show is syndicated nationally via Premiere Networks and airs live from iHeart’s TÚ 94.9 in Miami. Born to Cuban parents in Chicago, Santos moves freely between the Hispanic and mainstream American radio landscapes. His bilingual broadcasts are a crossover hit, combining humor, social satire, and political commentary to bridge the cultural and generational divide of a diverse cosmopolitan audience. As General Counsel, Lara will oversee the Legal and Corporate Affairs Department, which will include: Legal and Business Affairs, Corporate Compliance, Government Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility, Community Empowerment, Standards and Practices, Advertising Review and Compliance and Corporate-PLA Services.

Mr. Lara’s trial and arbitration experience is broad and substantial. For over two decades, he has counseled domestic and international corporate clients regarding business disputes, including serving as lead litigator in high-stakes trials both in the federal and state courts. His expertise also includes handling disputes brought under Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII, the Jones Act, and Florida’s Whistleblower Act.

Prior to serving as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for SBS, Lara practiced law at Mase Lara, P.A., a boutique trial law firm based in Miami, where he concentrated primarily on complex civil and commercial litigation. Richard was co-owner and managing shareholder at Mase Lara. He frequently appeared on televised news programs to provide legal commentary.

In addition, Mr. Lara is an active member of various community organizations, including serving as current Commissioner of the Judicial Nominating Commission for Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal (appointed by Florida Governor Rick Scott), member of the American Inns of Court, the Cuban American Bar Association, the Florida Bar’s Professionalism Committee, Ethics Committee, and Consumer Protection Law Committee, “Man of the Year” for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and former Chair of the 11th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee for the Florida Bar.

Mr. Lara received his law degree from Boston College Law School and was awarded his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. Mr. Lara is fluent in Spanish.
